One thing I have too much of is other people's attention. Paul Perry explained to me why he kept up Alamut once: so that he'd have a record of what he was paying attention to and be able return to it, follow the chronology, and find the connections; learn from experience. (Of course, he might have other reasons as well.) And that made me want to keep this site up and going, so that I'd have a record I could consult. Archives. Some kind of personal history other than the one which resides in my fragile memory (I never kept a journal or even took many pictures).

But I can't really do that with everyone watching. I have to explain everything, and can't use my inner, cryptic shorthand. And there are too many things I don't want to bring up for various reasons. So, we'll see. I really like meeting all these interesting people through the site, but it takes to much time and seems like one more obligation. (I'd like to be obligation free.) In any case, I am going on a vacation.
