I believe the name of the drink to which you are referring is pastis. A traditional peasant drink, it is usually serverd by the bottle accompanied by another bottle of water for dilution. Similar to the effects of many regional liquers such as tequila and Jagermeister, a pastis drunk is often savage and violent, with hangover to match.

You know what I like your site for? I first heard of it when the 5k contest was announced, but i still come back time to time.
Sometimes i see you tell something funny or interesting, but in general i hardly understand most of the topics even if i know the meanings of separate words :)
That disunderstanding is the reason i come back again and again :)
